Treasures in Heaven

Jesus makes a statement in Matthew 6 v. 21. "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also". In Revelation, Heaven is described in some detail. Stating the foundation is laid with anisotrophic gemstones. The streets are paved with gold and the gates have pearls. I'm sure the rest will be mysterious until we get there. But why do put more value of what is on earth? Yes the earth too is a gift from God and He wants us to enjoy it everyday. But our desire should be to do the will of God. Spread the gospel, love thy neighbor, be kind, and love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, body, and soul. Set your sights on the things of the Lord. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Eternity is the destination. Enter through the narrow gate.
